Kisk Catering Services is one of the UK’s most sustainable caterers, providing an authentic, fine EAST AFRICAN CUISINE delicious food around Leicestershire. We’ve been doing it since 2014, putting us in a great position to know what our customers want.

Our story is unique as it transits the African continent to England and in a quest to deliver the true taste of Africa in its originality, that’s how Kisk Catering Services was born.

Job Title: Catering Manager
Full-Time Hours - 40 hours per week
Salary - £38,700 per annum,
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Operations Management:
Direct and oversee the daily operations of the catering department, including event logistics, staffing, and service delivery.
Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance efficiency and ensure seamless event execution.
Supervise the setup and breakdown of catering events, ensuring all aspects meet client expectations and company standards.
Team Management and Development:
Recruit, train, and manage catering staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
Implement training programs to ensure team members are knowledgeable about food safety, customer service, and presentation techniques.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to encourage professional growth and maintain high morale.
Client Engagement and Customization:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their vision and expectations for events.
Collaborate closely with clients to design custom menus tailored to event themes, budget constraints, and dietary requirements.
Serve as the main point of contact during events, addressing any client concerns or requests to ensure complete satisfaction.
Culinary Oversight and Quality Control:
Oversee the entire culinary process, from menu planning and ingredient selection to food preparation and presentation.
Work with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and visual appeal.
Regularly review and update menu offerings to stay innovative and competitive in the market.
Financial and Business Management:
Develop and manage catering budgets, ensuring cost control measures are in place to achieve financial targets.
Analyze financial reports and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies for increased profitability.
Lead marketing initiatives, including online promotions and partnerships, to enhance the company’s reputation and attract new business.
Compliance and Safety Assurance:
Ensure that all catering operations comply with local health regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of food inspections, staff certifications, and training sessions.
Stay updated with industry standards and regulatory changes to adapt practices as necessary.
Problem-Solving and Crisis Management:
Quickly identify and resolve any issues that may arise during events, such as staff shortages, logistical challenges, or client concerns.
Develop contingency plans for unexpected circumstances to maintain service continuity and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience in catering management or a related field, with a strong understanding of event coordination and culinary standards.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong client-facing skills and the ability to create positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting and profitability analysis.
Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
Effective communication and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
